For 3 years Nelson and I have walked in the Martin County WalkAmerica honoring our son as TEAM JARED. In 2006, we were so lucky to have my wonderful friend, Kim, participate with us. This year, Jared is delighted to have his baby sister, Emma, by his side as we once again walk remembering his struggle when he was first born and celebrate his wonderful life! We walk to raise awareness as well as raise money for the continued advancement of neonatal technology ... helping to give ALL babies their 9 months! The t-shirts we are wearing the the photo below are from the Family Teams Fundraiser last November for Prematurity Awareness month. Pictured in pink and blue circles with the words 'born __ weeks too soon' are the walk's Ambassadors. Jared wears his shirt proudly and will point himself out to everyone he meets! |
